We needed some food (peanut butter and jelly). Therefore I decided to venture out alone to the grocery store. Culture shock was painful at this point. The store is fully staffed and every worker is yelling "buy this" in Korean. Several Korean's tried to give me samples of some scary things. I just walked away and tried to keep my food down. It was difficult because everything was in Hangul (imagine that). I ran into one sweet Korean lady who spoke some english. She helped me find salad dressing, but she had no clue what Ranch was. After leaving the store with more groceries than I could carry down 8 flights of stairs, I caught a cab. After driving 15 minutes and thinking I was almost home, I looked up and Low and behold we were back at the Lotte Mart. I about pooped my pants. I couldn't believe my eyes. A 4 dollar cab ride cost me 8 dollars. How do you argue when the driver only speaks Korean. I handed him the eight dollars and went to my room and cried. (Maybe yelled at Robert for taking me away from Bloomington, and threatening to catch the first flight back to the states)
Yesterday was our first attempt at the subway. I was amazed to see a whole new world underground. The subway was clean and the trip went well, until some Korean man told us we were at our stop. The stop we wanted was Guil --- the man said yes Guro. Sounded like Guil to us. This mess up costs us an extra hour. These people are funny!!! Finally we get to our destination the E-mart - Seoul's Walmart. Let me tell you none of the merchandise was the same. They were trying to sell me floor mats for beds. Most Koreans sleep on the floor.
On the way back Daniel started crying --- He was screaming. These elder Korean women were very concerned and thought I was not doing all I should. I was so happy to be off that train. To make the trip extra eventful the turn style locked up and would not let me through. I had to jump over the turn style. Like I don't stand out enough!!! The master jump was going well, until my skirt got caught and I tumbled to the ground. I was mortified and all eyes were on me. (Sorry I don't have a picture of the awesome fall) Once home I went to bed --- I did not cry. I am either maturing or getting used to being stupid!!!

Hey.. Crystal...
I can feel your frustration. I wish I were there to help you.
Right.. There is no a Ranch dressing..Most people use "MAYO" for a salad or make a special dressing for a salad. Actually I was amazed and am still amazed at many different salad dressings in the US..
I will pray for you and your family.
