Lunear New Year, Korean Tradition

The Korean tradition for Lunear New Year is to give the children money in Red Envelopes.   The only catch is the children are to perform the dressing up, kneeling, bowing, and showing respect prior to receiving the envelope.  In these pictures you see the boys kneeling before Robert, then bowing, and then standing to receive their "red envelope".  We gave them each 10,000 won and some gold "chocolate" coins.  They were ecstatic, especially over the chocolate.

Robby was fun, he was so serious about the "red envelope" tradition.  He learned about the custom from his Korean friends at school.  We couldn't let him down.  What a good boy!!!

Kneeling before Robert.

Bowing before Robert.
What a picture.

Waiting for the "red envelope".

Receiving their gift.
