Welcome To Crystal's Blog

It is my prayer that God will use my writings to bless you today. I write straight from the heart. I write as a venue to praise God, and grow as a woman. I am a woman saved by grace! I am married to the most amazing man, and I have been blessed with four beautiful children. God uses my family to teach me and subsequently increases my faith in Him. At times I write through tears of joy, and at times tears of sorrow. Join me as I honestly share my heart and give God praise for His love!

Quick to Listen, Slow to Speak, and Slow to Anger

Yesterday Robert and I put blue curtains up in Robby and Christopher's room.  The curtains look adorable with the wallpaper.  I was excited!  I explained to them that they need to be careful not to pull the curtains down.  Today less than 24 hours later Robby was upset because I made him take a nap.  He closed the curtains in anger and sure enough they fell down.  I was upset.  Instead of punishing on my own behalf, I decided to discuss this matter with the Bible in my hands.  God lead me to James 1:19 - 20.

My dear brothers (Mom, Dad, Robby, Christopher, and Daniel), take note of this;  Everyone (Mom, Dad, Robby, Christopher, and Daniel) should be quick to listen, slow to speak,  and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires (for Mom, Dad, Robby, Christopher, and Daniel).  James 1:19-20

This verse convicted Robby more than any words I could have said.  I personalized the verse with his name.  He was pretty quiet.  Robby and I decided to make fliers to put around the house with James 1:19-20 to help us remember "quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger".

In the future I plan on having more discipline discussions with the "Word Of God" in my hands.
