Teach Me, O Lord, I Pray (Hymn)

My prayer today!


Teach me, O Lord, I pray, Your precious truth divine;
Lead Me to understand Your word And make its precepts mine.
Impart Your wisdom, Lord, Shed upon my way,
That I may know Your boundless love; Teach me, O Lord, I pray.

Train me, O Lord, I pray, In knowledge and in skill;
O daily let me walk with You And do Your perfect will.
O train my heart and mind To serve You unashamed,
At home, abroad, wherever the Christ Has yet to be proclaimed.

Use me, O Lord, I pray, To shed Your light sublime
To rich and poor, to high and low Of every race and clime.
O may Your flaming zeal Burn constantly and true,
Till souls in darkness everywhere Fall down and worship You.


I found this song skimming through a hymnal this evening.  This song depicts the prayer of my heart.  Teach me, train me, and use me!  Teach me your ways!   My desire is to know your word deeply.   Train me in knowledge and skill.   Use me, O Lord!  I desire to be used by Him to shed light to a lost world.  I fail often, but my heart desires to be used by God!
