I gaze upon you as you sleep
Your little faces
So peaceful, content, and childlike.
These are the moments I freeze in my heart
Your growing fast
One Day, You will leave.
Most nights you don't know
You sleep unaware
I am there, next to your bed.
I ponder the past
Dread the future
One Day, You will be grown.
I wonder as you age.
My little boys with facial hair
Will we continue gazing?
When your teenagers,
Will you know, we're there praying?
One Day, God will show you the way.
Each boy with special gifts,
Robby, steadfast and sincere.
Christopher, compassionate and funny.
Daniel, sensitive and life of the party.
Thankful to God, your here with us.
Absorbing these nights of wholeness.
One Day, You will cleave.
I love you, Boys!
More than you'll know.
I cherish being your mom.
Evidence reveals.
Your growing up.
One Day, Dad and I will be alone.
Lord guide me.
As I teach these boys.
Responsibility, Respect, and Resourcefulness.
Please God,
Teach me now.
One Day, The skill in letting go.
