Welcome To Crystal's Blog

It is my prayer that God will use my writings to bless you today. I write straight from the heart. I write as a venue to praise God, and grow as a woman. I am a woman saved by grace! I am married to the most amazing man, and I have been blessed with four beautiful children. God uses my family to teach me and subsequently increases my faith in Him. At times I write through tears of joy, and at times tears of sorrow. Join me as I honestly share my heart and give God praise for His love!

Worry or Cherish???

Our journey to Bloomington has been a trek of fun and excitement.  I have regular moments where I am driving down Highway 46, and it suddenly hits me, "Wow, I am in Bloomington, Indiana!  We are home!"  I realize this is God's way of reminding me of His faithfulness, guidance, and love for our family.  When I am knee deep in the stress of relocating, ie. buying a house, a car, dealing with sick and jet lagged kids, living in a small hotel room, and dealing with third trimester discomforts:  God suddenly speaks to my heart.  Reassuring me of his goodness and reminding me of His amazing works.  I then realize these current stress factors are "blessings".  The Israelite's journey to the promised land, wasn't easy.  It was work!

Today as I sit next to my beloved husband outside our hotel room watching our three adorable boys, sitting beside the pool, and hearing the birds sing God's love songs to me. I will STOP thinking about "When will we get into our home,  be back on payroll, be settled, and whether we'll be ready for our new angel due in August."  Today I will START cherishing this unlimited time with my husband and three boys, the joy of carrying a new life, the excitement of owning our own home, and enjoying the friends I have dearly missed.  Most importantly I will cherish this time to read God's word, and relish in His love for His
children.

Lord, Forgive me for my negative focus.  Continue to speak to my heart, and remind me of my sinful thoughts, and lack of gratitude.  Help me to see the big picture, the picture you desire me to see!  Give me the strength to endure these last few weeks of my pregnancy, and the transition into a new home.  I know you are good!  Please prepare my heart for the future!  Help me to continually draw closer to you, and not to sin by worrying!

Mathew Chapter 6:25 - 34: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?.  And why do you worry about clothes?  See how the flowers of the field grow.  They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you - you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Crystal,

This post speaks to my heart! It's so easy to look ahead isn't it? Yet, there's so much beauty today and this moment is so fleeting.

Praying that you and I will enjoy today. Thanks for your lovely thoughts. It was so good to see you in church last Sunday! I'm glad you guys are back in town, and I look forward to getting to know you more.
