Welcome To Crystal's Blog

It is my prayer that God will use my writings to bless you today. I write straight from the heart. I write as a venue to praise God, and grow as a woman. I am a woman saved by grace! I am married to the most amazing man, and I have been blessed with four beautiful children. God uses my family to teach me and subsequently increases my faith in Him. At times I write through tears of joy, and at times tears of sorrow. Join me as I honestly share my heart and give God praise for His love!

Spontaneous Blessings

At times I get in a rut of living a rigid routine.  As a teen the word "routine" was never in my vocabulary.   I have always loved living life in abundance.  I did my homework, but only when nothing else exciting was going on.  However, the moment I became a mom, I realized the only way to function was through a routine.  Therefore, I tend to be a mom with a schedule.  Although, at times my spontaneous side pops through, and I want nothing more than to have fun.

We had plans to go to St. Louis to show off our new baby girl.  However, the more we tried to plan, the more unplanned things became.  Wednesday afternoon, after fretting over the details of our trip, I decided to stay home, and Robert took the boys' to visit his parents.  I was talking to one of my good friends from Boston at 3:00 p.m. and haphazardly mentioned how fun it would be to go to Boston the next day.  I hung up the phone and thought "why not"!  I used my sky miles, and the next morning at 8:30 a.m. my plane landed in Boston.  Talk about spontaneous!

I spent the entire weekend Thursday through Sunday hanging out with one of my best friends.  I had such a great time!  My friend is a strong Christian and continually leads me to the foot of the cross.  The two of us had such a wonderful time talking, laughing, and seeing God's goodness in our individual live's.  My husband was worried that I would get too stressed and worn out traveling with a baby.  Traveling with 8 week old Caroline was a breeze.  I was energized and refreshed!

Here's the lesson for you mother's out there!  Routines and stability are great, but don't miss the blessings in spontaneity.
