Here I sit, in the same spot.
The exact place I nursed all four of my babies.
My fourth new to this world child.
I recall how quickly the first three left my arms.
They're bigger now.
Very little time for cuddling.
Here we sit, sweet gift from above.
Your head lays restful on my shoulder.
Your sound asleep and ever so trusting.
You trust mommy, to care for you.
Not a care in the world.
How I wish this moment could freeze in time.
I whisper in your ear, "Baby girl stay little!"
Tears trickle down my face,.
Your cheek sensing the moisture of my emotion.
My last baby to hold and nurse.
You thrive on my milk and my love.
You learn from my walk and my talk.
Your tiny little body asleep on my chest.
I hear the sound of your gentle breaths.
Tears flowing.
Please, "Let Me Hold You Longer"
