I woke up early Monday morning due to anxiety flowing through my head. I was anxious about all that lay ahead. I took my shower and got ready for the big day. Daniel and I went to the lobby to send a mass e-mail out to say goodbye to my friends and family. We then woke up the family and ate breakfast. At this point I was in survival mode. My faith in God forced me to go through the motions of moving to another country. I repeated Romans 5:25 over and over in my head " All things work for good to those who love the Lord, to those who are called according to his purposes". My experiences throughout life had taught me one thing --- I would rather be in God's will than my own comfort zones. The Go van arrived at 10:05 and we were at the airport two hours before our flight. We ate our last meal in the states before going through security.
Once on the plane we realized there were no movie screens in front of our seats. I about cried, but said a prayer and felt better. The long 14 hour flight was not easy, but went well. The children were super well behaved and we were proud. The Korean Air staff took care of us.
They were extremely helpful with Daniel and brought out little gadgets to keep the children happy. We finally arrived in Seoul at 4:30 p.m. or 3:30 a.m. Chicago time. The flight went well, but I am not looking forward to flying again in a long time.
