Welcome To Crystal's Blog

It is my prayer that God will use my writings to bless you today. I write straight from the heart. I write as a venue to praise God, and grow as a woman. I am a woman saved by grace! I am married to the most amazing man, and I have been blessed with four beautiful children. God uses my family to teach me and subsequently increases my faith in Him. At times I write through tears of joy, and at times tears of sorrow. Join me as I honestly share my heart and give God praise for His love!

Homesick or "Homesick"

Tonight 13,000 miles away from home, I feel homesick.  I love Korea, the people, the culture, the experience of traveling one of God's amazing continents.  I'm not unhappy, lonely, or ungrateful, just homesick.  I long for my mother's hug, my in-law's communication, seeing my boy's spending time with grandma and grandpa, grandma's familiarity,  the friends that have become family, the sense of belonging, the amazing Godly churches we've encountered throughout our marriage, and not feeling like a foreigner.  As Thanksgiving approaches and the sentimental holiday traditions begin, I can't help but feel like an alien in a far away place.

As I reminisce about familiar traditions and comfortable relationships, I can't help but think about our Heavenly homecoming.  How much of my loneliness is due to my longing for Heaven.  I long to be in God's presence!  I realize no matter where I am in life, it will never compare to the completeness I will feel when He says "Well done my good and faithful servant"!  Until then I will encounter lonely days, feeling far away from home, and the feeling I don't "really" belong.  Even in my hometown, amongst family and the closest friends, I will encounter loneliness.  For loneliness is God's way of saying "I love you, I miss you, and I long for you!"  When loneliness comes my way "I will seek God's presence, His love, and His guidance".  The closer I am to God on Earth, the closer I am to my "real" home.

Ephesians 2:19 "So then you are no longer foreigners and noncitizens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of God's household".

John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also"
