Welcome To Crystal's Blog

It is my prayer that God will use my writings to bless you today. I write straight from the heart. I write as a venue to praise God, and grow as a woman. I am a woman saved by grace! I am married to the most amazing man, and I have been blessed with four beautiful children. God uses my family to teach me and subsequently increases my faith in Him. At times I write through tears of joy, and at times tears of sorrow. Join me as I honestly share my heart and give God praise for His love!

Our Approach into The Promised Land " The Land Flowing With Milk and Honey"

A few weeks ago I wrote a previous post sharing about "My Current Wilderness".  God has been mending, molding, and teaching me to trust Him.  To trust Him not only when things are going my way, but to trust Him when they're not.  This is a hard lesson for most Christians  Many of us truly desire to give God the steering wheel of our lives, but struggle letting go.  Through Bible study and prayer I came to a place in my spiritual walk with God, where I gave the steering wheel to God and moved to the passenger seat.  The passenger seat is the safest place to be when God is driving the vehicle.  The pressures of the fast lane are removed.  No longer are we required to handle the continual fears, stress, and decisions of life in the fast lane.  I gave God my wilderness, and made a conscious decision to make every effort to see God in my current situation.  To enjoy the gift of life, the blessing of family, and the beauty of the mountains in Korea.

One night before bed I said this prayer to God, "God I trust you in my wilderness.  You know my heart, and how much I miss my home, family, and comfortable surroundings, ie... TJ Maxx, Kohls, Walmart (ha ha).  I place my trust in you, I know that your plan is bigger than my own.  Today, I give all my desires to you!  I know you are the God of all creation, and all powerful.  I love and trust you!  I want to be in your will!"

The next morning I was talking on the phone to a Godly mentor and friend from Bloomington.  Robert rang on another phone.  I ask her to hold and answered Roberts call.  He said, "How do you feel about going back to Bloomington?"  What???  I thought he was joking!  He proceeded to tell me that he got an e-mail asking him to take a teaching position at Indiana University?  God said, "Your desire was to go back to America, I'll top that, how about I take you back home?"  I couldn't believe my ears!

Currently we are knee deep in plans to go home.  The shippers come tomorrow and Daniel and I leave May 26th to purchase a house and car.  Robert, Robby, and Christopher will meet us in America June 13th.  Robert and I were fully prepared to spend another year in Korea.  God parted the Red Sea and once again revealed his miraculous powers!

Our time in Korea has been a blessing.  We have seen much of the World, grown to love the Korean culture, relied on God in a deeper level, Robert and I have learned to rely on one another and thus strengthened our marriage, observed our family growing in closeness and number, and most importantly enjoyed deeper intimacy with God.

Korea has become a part of who we are.  We will take away a new language, a new mindset, a fondness for the Korean people, a more open mind, and a respect for culture.  Living in Seoul has given us a new level of appreciation.  Appreciation for the small things in life.  The things we easily take for granted, the empty interstates, the ability to park without waiting in a 1 hour line, the vast green hills of Indiana, the pure, crisp, fresh air of Indiana, the closeness of family and friends, the comforts of the traditions (so many of us take for granted), until they are non-existent in another country, and the amazing shopping in America!

The most amazing phenomenon I have observed is the scope of God's love!  Living in America until the age of 30, I was ignorant regarding the expanse of God.  I sang the song "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands, Red and Yellow, Black and White They Are Precious In His Sight...", but I never understood the vastness of this concept.  The "Whole World" is ENORMOUS!  The many crosses throughout Seoul were constant reminders of His presence in Korea.  There were many times of loneliness missing family, friends, and comfortable surroundings.  However, I never felt God's presence absent in my life.  I learned "How Big God Truly Is"!

Now we begin a new journey back to a familiar surrounding.  We don't know what the future holds, but I have seen God's mighty hand, His love, and guidance. I will trust Him with the details!  I have learned the danger in doubting God, and I want to rest in Him.  For now, I am a comfortable passenger, and God is the best Driver!
