(This picture is dedicated to my husband)
I have been pondering a special way to share my Thanksgiving for 2011. This morning while pouring my "sanity in a cup" morning coffee, I realized there is no special, unique, or new way to say why I am thankful. The most important thing is simply to put into words, the Thanksgiving of our hearts. This year I am going to think about the little things I am thankful for, the things I often take for granted. It's not new or unique, but fun and allows me to see the small things in life!
Happy Thanksgiving 2011
* The first and most important is God: There is nothing small about Him. He is the reason I can open my eyes each morning and face the world. He's the purpose in everything I do.
*My Help Mate: Robert walks alongside me daily. He encourages, loves, makes me laugh, and tells me the truth I need to hear (even if it's bad hair).
*My Kids: My kids are a venue for joy, laughter, forgiveness, and teaching me patience. Their the best!
* The words "I Love You!": Simple yet strong.
* Garage Door : I love hearing the garage door go up and my husband's jeep backing in. Everyday I am glad to hear him come home!
*The clock: Tell's me what time it is, helps me schedule my day, and allows me to know when my beloved husband and children will be coming home from their busy days.
*Baby Swing: This simple seat, which moves back in forth, calms my baby. Allows me time to play with my boys, get the house cleaned, dinner cooked, blogs written, and laundry folded.
*Play Set: We have a play set outside our kitchen window. I love watching my boys play firemen, while I prepare dinner, or clean the kitchen. Although I am busy working, this allows me to know they are happy and safe. Helps me to feel like I am playing alongside them.
*Windows: I love looking outside! There is something refreshing about looking outside your home, at the beauty of God's creation.
*Books: Especially the Bible! Christian novels, parenting books, recipe books, and all kinds of books. The ability to attain knowledge, idea's on parenting, yummy meals, and the list goes on. There is limitless information at our fingertips.
*Eggs: "Yes, I am thankful for eggs!" Laugh if you must, but the use of eggs is endless. Eggs are used to make delicious foods. They make cookies, cakes, pancakes, corn bread, and much more. Now, you are thankful for eggs too!
*Gas: The use of gas gets you and others from place to place. "This year Robert's parents will share Thanksgiving with us at our home. There is nothing better than observing the bond my children are forming with their grandparents." Gas allows us to travel to loved ones for the holidays. Not to mention, it provides hours of laughter for the four boys in our home!
*Starbucks: My list wouldn't be complete if it didn't include Starbucks!
*Mail Carrier: Almost daily a woman brings mail to my box. Most times bills, but sometimes, cards or letters written from the people I love. (And every once in a while a FREE drink at Starbucks!)
*School Bus: Twice a day throughout the week, the yellow school bus picks up and drops my boys off. This allows me time to care for the house, myself, and my other children.
*Phone Calls: Unexpected phone calls from family and friends make life so much better. A simple "I just called to see how you're doing?", puts a smile on my face.
*Tylenol & Motrin: Many times my kids' bodies burn up due to sickness. I give them the recommended dose and it allows me to sleep knowing their little bodies are cooling down.
*Paint: I love paint! I love color!
*Quilt Rack: Holds several quilts hand stitched by my mother. These quilts are precious to me, and the rack allows me to display my mother's affections.
*Thanksgiving: A time to think about our blessings. A chance to voice our thankfulness out loud, and an opportunity to share with our loved ones, the gratitude in our hearts.
Happy Thanksgiving 2011----
