Welcome To Crystal's Blog

It is my prayer that God will use my writings to bless you today. I write straight from the heart. I write as a venue to praise God, and grow as a woman. I am a woman saved by grace! I am married to the most amazing man, and I have been blessed with four beautiful children. God uses my family to teach me and subsequently increases my faith in Him. At times I write through tears of joy, and at times tears of sorrow. Join me as I honestly share my heart and give God praise for His love!

Feeling Thankful on a Normal Day

Today I am thankful...

* Good health.  After a week of suffering from a bout with the flu, I am thankful to feel more like myself.  Even more thankful my children are feeling better.  There's nothing like illness, to make you thankful for good health.

"Health is not valued until sickness comes."

Picture of me this past week.  Ask my kids, they would agree?

* My Bible study.  What a supportive and blessed group of women I have to learn God's word alongside.  These woman are Godly, supportive, wise, and encouraging.  This group of women continually lead me to the cross, and I know I've found something special!

"Good humor and laughter are far too wonderful not to come straight from the heart of God." - Beth Moore

"You cannot amputate your history from your destiny, because that is redemption." - Beth Moore

"True intimacy with God always brings humility." - Beth Moore

* The warmth and sun.  What a great day!  Beautiful, sunny, warm, and wonderful.   Enjoying dinner with my family and a nice family stroll, through my wonderful and peaceful neighborhood.

"How beautiful a day can be. When kindness touches it!" - George Elliston

"Babies!  What a wonderful way to start people!"

"My finger may be tiny but I can still wrap my Daddy around it."

"One mother + One daughter = Best Friends"

"Boys are God's way of telling you that your house is too neat."

* My husband.  Today I spent some time talking with a friend, whose friend lost her husband unexpectedly.  Such a sad tragedy.   After the conversation I had to pick up the phone and call my husband to tell him, "I Love You!"  These conversations although unfortunate make me think, and makes me realize how truly blessed I am.

"Daddy, a daughter's first love."

"When a daughter first meets her father, she makes room in her heart for the first significant man in her life; she becomes Daddy's little girl."

"His heritage to his children wasn't words or possessions, but an unspoken treasure, the treasure of his example as a man and a father. - Will Rogers Jr."

* My funny children.  How these small people add a tremendous amount of joy to my life.  My four kids are each unique and funny in their own special ways.  What would I ever do, without their cute faces, funny phrases, and sensitive little hearts?  I love my kids!

"Between the innocence of babyhood and the dignity of manhood. We find the delightful creature of a boy."

"Little boys come in all shapes and sizes, shy and adventurous, full of surprises, with misshapen halos and mischievous grins, small dirty faces, and sweet sticky chins."

"Build me a son, whose heart will be clear, whose goals will be high, a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men, one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget to weep, one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past."

" Heredity determines the color of her eyes, but environment lights them up."

* The gift of grandparents.  My kids love their grandparents.  My children and their Grandparents have a special relationship.  Our kids have an inflamed sense of excitement when they get to visit with their grandparents.  Such a special bond their building!

"What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance.  They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort, lessons in life.  And, most importantly, cookies. - Rudolph Giuliani"

"Grandmothers are just antique little girls."

"Grandma always made you feel she had been waiting to see just you all day and now the day was complete. - Marcy DeMaree"

"Grandfathers are just antique little boys."

"A grandfather has silver in his hair and gold in his heart."

* The blessing of many friends.  Friends I feel comfortable enough to pray with, chat about anything and everything, and say "I Love You, I Miss You, Friend!"  The old saying states, "If you have one true friend than you are truly blessed!"  And I have many true friends.  Therefore, I am extra blessed!

"A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway. - Fr. Jerome Cummings"

"A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are."

"Life is partly what we make it, and partly what it is made by the friends we choose."

"Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of.  You know whatever you do, they'll still be there. - Amy Li"

"Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together. - Woodrow Wilson

"I'd like to be the sort of friend that you have been to me, I'd like to be the help that you've been always glad to be; I'd like to mean as much to you each minute of the day, as you have meant old friend of mine, to me along the way."

All day I have been thinking about how truly blessed and thankful I am.  Today, stop, think, and praise God for the everyday blessings you have in your life!  Take time today to ponder your blessings, and voice your grateful heart to God, the Giver Of All Good Things!
